Are you a survivor from trauma(s) in your life?

I work with clients who have wide ranges of trauma from child abuse, family trauma, work abuse to intimate partner violence.

My Method

I use the models of EMDR, IFS and ACT therapy to empower my clients, who go on to experience posttraumatic growth. I am also in my own personal therapy so I can ensure that boundaries exist where your therapy time means we focus on your healing, not mine.

However, I do find that from the models of EMDR, IFS and ACT, I have experienced profound healing that it gives me great joy to offer a treatment that has transformed my life for the better.

Have you experienced a recent loss?

All Loss Counts

I work with human loss (parent, sibling and still-born, infant loss), pet loss, loss of a job (layoff/unexpected termination from employer) and loss of a relationship (separation or divorce). I also work with individuals who have had loss of their physical abilities and the adjustment of such loss in their lives. I have experienced multiple personal losses in my life so I dedicate a good percentage of my practice to helping those who have been profoundly impacted by loss.

I am actively looking for ways to help my clients heal when they have experienced an unimaginable loss.  I have continued to find EMDR, IFS, and ACT therapy to be strong evidence-based models to use.

Group therapy works, too.

Group therapy has equal the strong outcomes for improvement of mental health symptoms as does individual therapy. Most of my graduating group members acknowledge the confidence they reach that is different than individual therapy.  If you are interested in being part of a grief and loss group therapy, please let me know so I can find options for you (virtual or in-person).

Seeking teen therapy?

I work with teen clients who are 15+ years old.

I have been trained by child & adolescent specialist, Dr. Jeffrey Lazarus, Ph.D. and have had excellent results in the 10 years of working with teens. I am also appreciative that after a teen graduates from my care, it is very common they return back in their twenties when they are returning back for the summer.

I empower my teen clients and help them with the following:

Self-Confidence

I help teens gather the self-confidence they need to become authentic versions of themselves without fear.

Goals & Values

I help teens get clarity on what goals they will be accomplishing in school, as well as personal interests and values they have in their relationships.

Boundary-Setting

Boundary-setting as adolescence is a time of exploration, autonomy and growth.

I also enjoy actively involving my teen client's parents to give you the involvement and understanding of how to have a closer relationship with your teen. If you are a blended family, I also work hard to make sure both parents feel equally involved in the process.

Why should I trust you?

What are my credentials and training to ensure you are receiving the best mental health care and services possible?

It can be confusing to understand the experience, training and education of a therapist so while we are on our consultation call, please know I am happy to explain more about how my training and specialties may benefit you based upon what you are seeking. If you should decide I’m not the right therapist for you, I will make sure I provide resources and referrals so you do. Your health and well-being matter to me, regardless of whether you decide to work with me as your therapist.

Seasoned & dedicated

I have spent 15 years of my career dedicated to learning and receiving the best models to treat anxiety, stress, trauma, couples conflict and adjustment/phase of life changes for my individual clients.

Professional colleagues

I have also trained with esteemed trainers such as Dr. Matthew Woolsey, Ed.D., ACC Dr. Luana Coloma Cook, Psy.D., Dr. Sam Jinich, Ph.D., Dr. Michelle Gannon, Ph.D., Dr. Robyn Walser, Ph.D. Dr. Kelly Wilson, Ph.D., Dr. David Burns, MD, Beau Laviolette, LCSW and Dr. Jeffrey Lazarus, Ph.D.

A student for life

I consider myself a student for life and therefore, you can expect me to be in active consultation when I am working with you.  Consider this that you will likely have multiple therapists assisting you because I am in active consultation groups and seek mentors of the highest experience and expertise to ensure you receive the best mental health care possible.
