I'm Tricia Kim Walsh, LMFT

You have an advocate and an ally in me.

I am a Multi-ethnic (Hapa), AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist cis gender woman based in the SF Bay Area for over 10 years who is dedicated to improving my client’s quality of life, in their personal and professional relationships.

I am a Certified (EFT) Emotionally Focused Therapist, Certified (EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapist and Certified in (PMH-C) Perinatal Mood Health.

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I believe in powerful personal and professional change and transformative growth and healing.
I believe in people and how they can change. I believe in forgiveness, repair, healing, and accountability.

You are more than your symptoms and not a diagnosis. I welcome you to bring all of yourself into this healing therapy space.

My therapy style and approach

My approach to therapy is personalized where I take a thorough clinical intake to best understand how your life experiences impact the way you navigate this world and the relationships you engage in.

I have extensive training in providing evidence based therapy with strong positive outcomes for my clients but you are far more than your clinical symptoms. I invite you to help me understand how your coping skills were invaluable and life-saving. I also understand that these very coping skills can sometimes no longer serve you or help you reach your goals or draw you closer in connection to the ones you love and pursue the dreams you have.

We would be a great fit if:

  • You are a couple (BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ welcome!) between the ages of 18 and 65.
  • You identify as a BIPOC/AAPI/LGBTQIA+ individual/teenager.
  • You are a new parent or starting a family and experiencing fertility challenges.
  • You have experienced traumas and/or grief and loss in your childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
  • You are experiencing anxiousness or depressed mood related to unresolved experiences.
  • You are experiencing high stress and anxiety at work.
  • You are going through adjustment in a new phase of life.
  • You are committed to resolving past experiences that prevent you from showing up fully in your life, your partnership, your professional life and your relationships with others.

My story

I was born in Boulder Colorado to a First Generation Korean American Father and an Arkansan Mother (Irish/Choctaw/French). I grew up in Irvine (Orange County), CA and identify as AAPI, Korean, Hapa and Multi-ethnic. I have known most of my life that I was meant to be a healer and specialize in couples therapy. I love helping others have deeper more meaningful connections, that includes self-care, better communication and thriving relationships to all they know.

I am also a Hold Me Tight© Workshop Facilitator and Certified in EFT, EMDR and Perinatal Mood Health. Through these complementary disciplines, I also provide an integrative and systems approach to accommodate major phases of life (new job, relocation, dating, marriage, trying for a family, etc.).

I have been married to my best friend and husband for a total of 12 years (dated for 20 years) and we have two loving fur babies together, Loke and Mocha. I identify as a "cishet" female, heterosexual and identify as an AAPI professional woman of color.
